Home to the London Bridge: The iconic 1830s London Bridge was sinking and put up for sale by the City of London in the 1960s. The founder of Lake Havasu City bought it, had it dismantled stone by stone, shipped it across the ocean, and rebuilt it in the middle of the Arizona desert. The Only Natural Wonder in the US: The Grand Canyon is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, and it remains the only wonder of the world located within the United States. It spans an impressive 277 miles in length and can reach up to 18 miles wide. The “Valentine State”: Arizona was admitted to the Union as the 48th state on February 14, 1912, making it the last of the contiguous United States. Because of its Valentine’s Day birthday, it is sometimes affectionately called the “Valentine State”.
